How to get to Sounkyo Hostel
Those coming by public transport
● From Asahikawa Station
About 2 hours by bus bound for Sounkyo from "Platform 8" in front of Asahikawa Station (via the bus center next to JR Kamikawa Station)
Get off at the "Sounkyo" bus stop. Asahikawa station square is the first train and Sounkyo is the last train, so you can rest assured that you are sleeping!
From the Sounkyo bus stop, walk up the slope to the Sounkyo Hostel in 10 minutes. (Please refer to the map below for details)
● From Kamikawa Station
About 30 minutes by bus bound for Sounkyo from the bus center next to JR Kamikawa Station (Kamikawa Mori Terrace Bus Touch)
Get off at the "Sounkyo" bus stop. Please come and enjoy the colors of the quay and the trees.
From the Sounkyo bus stop, walk up the slope to the Sounkyo Hostel in 10 minutes. (Please refer to the map below for details)
Those who come by car
● From the direction of Asahikawa
About 90 minutes from Asahikawa via Kamikawa Town.
If you go straight on Route 39 , you will reach Sounkyo Onsen. From there, go up the hill toward the big hotel "Choyotei". Next to it is Sounkyo Hostel.
* Use the free highway section [Aibetsu IC-Kamikawa Sounkyo IC] on the way to save a little time!
* Once you enter the inn, we would like you to take a break, so we recommend that you finish your shopping before you come!
* There are about 10 parking spaces in front of the inn, so please use as much as possible along the white line.
(Excuse me, but reservations cannot be made and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If you cannot park there, please use the public parking lot a little away from our inn.)
Those who come by walking in the mountains
● From Asahidake and Tokachidake
Go down from Kurodake and take the Sounkyo lift and ropeway.
A 5-minute walk from the ropeway platform at the foot of the mountain will bring you to Sounkyo Hostel.
Please plan well and flexibly and come in consultation with the weather.
